Are you a long-term survivor? Interested in learning about and/or developing a Mindfulness practice while connecting with others who share some of the same history and challenges that come with long-term exposure to HIV?
Mindfulness practices have been proven to promote greater mental and physical health as well as greater neural plasticity, while decreasing anxiety and depression. I am offering a closed, 8-week mindfulness-based support group for people to benefit from developing their own practices. In addition to having their own mindfulness “toolbox”, understand how the brain, mind and body work together and how awareness of this can improve the outcomes. There will also be time for sharing stories that affirm our lives, our struggles and our successes.
The time of these sessions will depend on the availability of those interested in joining. Depending on interest, other groups may be added. Group size will be limited to 8 people. Please contact me if interested or for more information.
The fee per session is $20/person based on ability to pay. The fee can be waived or negotiated for those with limited resources.
